The Riverside Cathedral Church holds a Sunday Worship beginning at 8:30am for meditation with scripture class following at 9:00am. In addition, there are plenty of events and opportunities to achieve prayer or worship services throughout the week. For more information regarding events, tours and other services go to http://www.trcnyc.org. The history of this church goes back all the way to the year 1841. Norfolk Street Baptist Church was attended by many, yet during the month of February about half of this gospel group including the pastor of Stanton Street Baptist Church left to start this new church that would eventually become the Riverside Church. As far as the History of this historical church goes there is also a book the was published and sold in their gift shop called, “The History of the Riverside Church in the City of New York”. Another monumental moment for this beautiful church was in 1967 when Martin Luther King Jr. spoke about the Vietnam war.
Another interesting and historical event that happened within the exquisite Cathedral was Martin Luther King Jr.'s speech regarding the US war back in 1967.
