The 92Y is a Jewish Cultural Center on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, and it houses the Gilda and Henry Block School of the Arts, as well as many classes and events that New Yorkers can take part in. These classes and events range from art classes to lectures to concerts to talks with best-selling authors. As a resident of 92Y, you get a discount to all of the classes and events going on at the center. Here is a link to the 92Y calendar where you can find when these events are taking place:
Along with being a cultural center, the 92Y also houses students and interns who are temporarily staying in New York City. The upper floors are reserved for young residents who mainly go to Hunter College, the New School, some of the other colleges in the city, as well as interns here in the city for a temporary amount of time.
The rooms are fully furnished with a bed, pillow, sheets and a blanket, desk and desk lamp, chair, and dresser. There is a full length mirror on the door to the closet, as well as shared single-sex bathrooms, as well as laundry rooms located throughout the upper levels of the center. There is free maid and bed linen service once a week.
As a resident, you get access to the gym on the third floor, which has a weight room, cardio floor, pool, basketball court, and many different types of classes from yoga to spinning, all complimentary to residents.
And if none of these perks from residency at 92Y are enough to sway you, this last one benefit should change your mind: the building as free Wi-Fi.
Enjoy your stay at the 92Y Jewish Cultural Center!
