For those coming to the city who love Broadway don't neglect it's younger brother, off-Broadway.

Cherry Lane Theatre is the oldest continuously running off-Broadway theatre in New York City. It opened under the name of Cherry Lane Playhouse in 1924. The building was originally constructed as a farm silo in 1817. It also spent time as a tobacco warehouse and box factory before a stage ever filled it's interiors.

Catch a show here to say you saw an up and coming star or you might be lucky enough to be around for a show featuring an A-lister. Taylor Schilling and Peter Dinklage starred in the same off-Broadway show while in the off-season of their TV shows.

Barbara Streisand, Kevin Bacon, and Dennis Quaid have all been a part of Playhouse productions.
