Ellen's Stardust Diner

A must-do when visiting the Theater District is Ellen's Stardust Diner. Located right in the heart of Broadway, musical-goers can pop out of a matinee or evening show and head on down to Ellen's for a good old American meal in a classic 50's themes diner. But what makes the Stardust such a popular restaurant? One that is highly recommended by anyone who has ever been there? It's not the food, which is decent but not extraordinary. What is extraordinary, though, is the singing waiters and waitresses.

At the Stardust, the staff is unique in that everyone waiting there are Broadway wannabees, talented singers, actors, and dancers, who have just not had their big break yet. But their time comes eventually, according to the pictures lining the walls of all of the talented waiters and waitresses who had left the stardust to go on and shine on Broadway. So awesome, right?

The wait staff sings a variety of songs, from classic Broadway hits, to beloved Beatles songs, to popular hits. The environment at the Stardust is lively and engaging, and is what sets this restaurant apart from the thousands of restaurants in New York City.

Here is a little peek into what I'm talking about:

(keep in mind, this video was filmed on my iPhone without the intended purpose of being published, but I wanted to share share, so ignore the filmography).

p.s. I would HIGHLY recommend getting the waffle fries here. SO GOOD!
