Baked in The Garment District

Baked by Melissa is a unique dessert place located in the center of the Garment District. They offer a variety of cupcakes and macaroons, but they found a way to make them unique from the hundreds of other cake shops in the city. Their cupcakes and macaroons are bite size, just bigger than a quarter. Melissa the owner and baker of the store wanted people to be able to enjoy these treats and try a whole bunch of flavors without feeling like they gained 10 pounds. People can splurge on these treats and not feel bad about it.

They offer over 10 different flavors of cupcakes and over 6 different flavors of macaroons. These delicious treats are also very cheap, each item is just a dollar. They have a variety of packages you can buy for yourself or as gifts.

This location is special because they have the one and only gluten free store right next to it. None of her other stores have this. This reaches out to more customers who are gluten free and it’s nice to have it right next to the original store so people can have their option.

I tried the cookies and cream cupcake and it was amazing, the chocolate cake and vanilla frosting melted in my mouth. The crisp crushed oreos tied the whole thing together. I love how little they are because I get sick if I eat a huge cupcake so this size was perfect! My goal is to try every cupcake she offers, 1 down 10 to go.
