Pelham Bay Park

To get there it is pretty simple: all you do is take the 6 on the green line all the way up to last stop. Make sure you get on the 6 train that isn't an express. We were really excited to go to Pelham Bay Park. We love Central Park and were expecting something similar. However we quickly found it isn't like Central Park at all. Though it is very large, it isn't much like Central Park. It isn't well kept or groomed. But it's great for nature hikes and bike rides. It's beautiful because it is largely untouched. It seems like there is an endless amount of trails to explore. However, unless you go to Orchard Beach or City Island or absolutely love biking or hiking I wouldn't highly recommend spending the time to go all the way up there.
