Okay, we’ll admit it: there are some downsides to living in the city. Maybe it’s because we grew up in less busy areas, but the same hustle and bustle that excites and electrifies you when you come can also drain you. Open space is hard to come by when you live in New York City. With the tall gray skyscrapers, it’s easy to become claustrophobic. Some days it’s nice to find some green here in the city. Thankfully, the New York Parks and Recreation has done an amazing job providing parks all over the city, and one of the most impressive is the Brooklyn Botanical Garden. It’s the perfect place for a stroll on a nice day. (Actually, make sure it’s a Tuesday; that’s when entry is free).
The Brooklyn Botanical Gardens have it all, from herbs wafting their angelic scents through the air to gorgeous pathways shaded by tall, leafy trees. And of course the gardens are filled with all kinds of beautiful blossoms. It’s a place fit for people of all ages. The shade, smells and scenery make for the perfect day away just hop on a 4 or 5 train, ride it all the way to Franklin Ave and enjoy some nice Brooklyn Neighborhoods on your walk over!
