Pastries in Little Italy

We would feel remiss if we didn't somehow incorporate Italian food into Little Italy. About every pizza place you walk by on Mulberry Street has a newspaper clipping proudly displayed naming their pie the best pizza in New York. We stopped by a stand for pistachio and chocolate cannolis on Broome and Mulberry. Honestly? They left our mouths filmy and the stuffy tasted an awful lot (emphasis on the "awful") like cream cheese. If you find yourself in Little Italy and wanting a treat, we recommend you keep it classic and go with gelato. You can't ever go wrong with gelato.
