Garment District Neighborhood Description

The Garment District is located in Midtown Manhattan and is known as the center for fashion design and manufacturing for the whole United States. There are numerous fabric shops, designer showrooms, and designing studios throughout this neighborhood. The streets are lined with trim shops, fabric stores, and filled with fashion students, along with professionals in the industry. The Garment District contains the Fashion Institute of Technology, where students study the basics of fashion and gain experience to help them further their career in fashion.
