Little Italy in the Bronx

The Real Little Italy in the Bronx is often known as Arthur Avenue. It is filled with restaurants and other specialty shops and stores. Having served my mission in Italy I was very excited to go to Little Italy in the Bronx. Though it isn’t easiest to get to, it is conveniently located near the Bronx Zoo and Bronx Botanical Gardens.

I have to compare it to the Little Italy in Manhattan. Both Little Italy’s are actually quite similar. The one in Manhattan is much bigger but I like community feel of the Bronx Little Italy. It is really quite cute and much less touristy. If you are an Italian fan then I highly suggest going. I wish I could have stopped at every pizzeria and gelateria that we saw.

We stopped in one of the grocery stores and I was in heaven! There were so many Italian foods and treats that I haven’t been able to find in America. It had all my favorite snacks and treats that I ate in Italy!
