Rockefeller Center

Rockefeller Center reaches from 48th to 51st Street and covers over 20 acres of Midtown. Opened in 1933, Rockefeller Center is home to many of the historic landmarks and traditions of New York City. Rockefeller Center is famous for the ice rink it houses each winter, the Rockefeller Building, Radio City Music Hall, and much more. You could spend days within the few blocks of Rockefeller Center and still not experience all that it has to offer.

Those visiting Rockefeller Center can expect great shopping and dining, interesting architecture and design, and some of the best people watching in the City. Although the famous ice rink isn’t open during the spring and summer months, the space is used as an upscale outdoor restaurant for those interested in fine dining. Another attraction worth checking out is Radio City Music Hall, home to the world-famous Rockette dancers. With fun music, exciting dancing, and beautiful costumes, the Rockette performances are truly a spectacle worth checking out.

One of the standout features of Rockefeller Center is the observatory at the top of the Rockefeller Center, the Top of the Rock. By most opinions, it is easily superior to the Empire State Building in terms of city views. It offers a slightly lower vantage point, putting you more in line with the city skyline, and is significantly less crowded. For the fullest experience, definitely go around sunset and stick around till the sun goes down to get a day and night view of the city.

Rockefeller Center has so much to offer to anyone looking to experience a uniquely New York City experience. Its convenient location and plentiful attractions make it a must visit for any trip to the City.
