BYUNYCEXPERIENCE

Hi. I'm an associate professor on BYU's School of Communications faculty. I teach media history, historical research methods, backpack journalism, television news producing, reporting, and introduction to journalism. I research journalism history.

I'm also the inaugural director of the BYU New York City Field Experience, hosted by the BYU Kennedy Center and sponsored by the BYU School of Communications. I love New York City and can't wait to share it with the first BYU students in this program.

I'm a Canadian ex-patriot, recovering journalist, husband, father to three adult sons, an adorable goldendoodle and an affectionate but slightly neurotic mini labroadoodle. I love cycling.
