Statue of Liberty
On Tuesday, May 10 we visit the statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Our ferry reservation is for 11:00 a.m., so let's meet in the lobby at 9:15 and leave by 9:30 a.m. We'll take the 4 or 5 train downtown to Bowling Green and walk to Battery Park.
There is a security screening for the ferry and the statue platform. We were not able to secure tickets to the crown (which sold out months ago), however, we do have tickets for the statue platform. No backpacks or tripods are allowed on the platform, although there are lockers available on Liberty Island.
If you were not present for the lecture on Pulitzer's role in the installation of the Statue of Liberty, you can watch that here (fast forward about 35 minutes in):
After seeing the Statue we will then ferry to Ellis Island, where there is a small museum.
