Moveable Type at the New York Times

Group activity recap

The Times moved to Eighth Avenue from from 229 West 43 Street, which it occupied for most of the twentieth century. The city named Times Square for the newspaper after it moved from Park Row in 1904.

During our recent visit to the current New York Times Building, we admired Renzo Piano's architecture, the bust of the newspaper's patriarch, Adolph Ochs, and noted the separate elevators for business and editorial employees.

But most of us were taken with the art display, Moveable Type.
