Assignment: NYC episode 5

The 20th century dawns in New York City with the Red Scare and an anarchist bombing on Wall Street. The emergence of radio and magazines transforms the city into the country's media capital. Musical theater explodes onto Broadway and African Americans pour into Harlem. Al Smith takes the "Streets of New York" to the rest of the country in the 1928 presidential election, but bitterly discovers its bigotry against Catholics. The Chrysler Building and Empire State Building rise into the atmosphere and the stock market crashes, as New York descends into a decade-long depression.
