Update on Wednesday group activities

Update: I've cancelled the group reservation for the Intrepid. The plan is, instead, to give you cash so you can arrange to visit in small groups at the time most convenient to you. Here's where you make a reservation online; I believe you can walk up and buy tickets, as well. Admission is $24. I will give you cash at dinner on Wednesday (see below for details on dinner at Sylvia's and Amateur Night at the Apollo).

We've got a full schedule on Wednesday, June 8.

First up: The Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space Museum. We have a group reservation (finally) on this World War II and Cold War aircraft carrier for 11:00 a.m. Please meet in the North Lobby no later than 10:00 a.m. I think our best bet is to take an express train downtown to Grand Central, then take the 7 train to Hudson Yards and walk from there. I believe our tickets are all-access, so you'll want to spend a few hours there.

Then, we'll have dinner at the famous Sylvia's Restaurant at 5:30 p.m. (The program is paying for this meal.) You can either meet us there, or we'll leave from the North Lobby at 4:45 p.m.. Sylvia's is located at 328 Malcolm X Blvd. From 92Y we can either take the 4, 5, or 6 uptown to 125th Street, then get on an eastbound Crosstown M60 bus to Malcolm X Blvd; or take the 4, 5, or 6 to 149th-Grand Concourse and change to a downtown 2 train, getting off at 125th.

After dinner we'll stroll down 125th Street to the famous Apollo Theatre for Amateur Night. The show starts at 7:30 PM. The BYU interns will also be attending this event.

To get home, we'll probably walk to Malcolm X Blvd and take an uptown 2 train to 149-Grand Concourse, then change to the downtown 4, 5, or 6.
