Podcasting - Part 1

We started our podcast training today with recording and editing audio on Garage Band. To supplement that training I offer you you this guide to podcasting which, among other things, gives tips on which equipment to use. You can also read this guide to using Garage Band for podcasting.

Next time in class we'll talk about the specifics of the podcasting assignment and introduce you to the recording studios in the Brimhall Building and the basics of Adobe Audition, which is the platform used in those studios.

Meantime, you should listen to some podcasts to get an idea of what you may be looking for in terms of style and substance.

Please take a look at what's available in iTunes: navigate to podcasts, using the drop-down menu in the upper left-hand corner, then click on store in the center on top.

I'm a personal fan of On The Media from WNYC, but you may find some others to your liking. You can make your podcast personal, but it should not be frivolous. It should be something that Universe readers may want to listen to.
