What's in it for you?
Learn how to develop your storytelling and research skills using Google research and visualization tools. In this hands-on, half-day workshop, we'll cover how to collect data from real-time Google searches through Google Trends, and how to organize and present data quickly in Google Fusion Tables and MyMaps. We'll also look at workflows that will help you produce better stories, generate ideas for your beat, and more. Come with your laptop and leave with new skills. We’ll also touch on mapping and photo verification tools, and look at Scholar and Public Data to give your reporting and researching a boost. And with enough time, we’ll have some fun with Translate, Earth Pro, Cardboard and Street View imagery.
Please make every effort to attend. And remember—no class on Wednesday.
